Formed in the Philadelphia alternative music scene of the 1990s, this Philadelphia band's sound could just as easily come from London or New York. Combine the best of English alternative/shoegaze with contemporary sensibilities, add powerful, emotional vocal hooks and effects-driven guitars and you'll get an idea of what Chelsea In Orbit is all about. Led by charismatic frontman Juan Parejo, this band's electric live show drops jaws and is not to be missed. But don't get the wrong idea. Although Chelsea is known for its full sound, amid the deep reverb and swirling feedback are creative, well-crafted songs. Across a discography of five studio albums, the band has created a dense wall of sound led by the thump of Rick Eddy’s drums, the immersive guitars of Gregg Biesiada, and the always intense vocals of Juan Parejo. Making their mark in clubs from New York to Virginia for the better part of 25 years, Chelsea in Orbit continues to create its distinctive sound well into the new millennium.
